Autumn Tidy

Never believe the papers. In my last blog I wrote about not seeing the sun until November. But we have been blessed with  a lovely sunny warm October - for now!

The dragonflies are still hovering over the pond, darting between water lilies and  the reeds. The heron waits patiently for bright orange fish to appear and a pair of red kites soar elegantly occasionaly being buzzed by crows.

In the garden it's get the vacumn out and prune away. This is the autumn tidy. The good weather means more can get done in the garden. Removing dead leaves and composting them .Perennials can be cut down and cuttings taken of hardwood and deciduous shrubs.

Give the greenhouse a good clean with a touch of bleach and reduce watering any plants you have kept inside there.

A woman's work is never done!
