Flaming June it's called and it has lived up to it's name-the heat is on and I can't believe I am watering every day.No doubt soon there will be a hosepipe ban but until then, I am out, hose at the ready just as the sun gets a bit lower about 7pm.I am eating very healthily at the moment due to the amount of lettuces that are in the new vegetable beds. The rabbits have nothing on me!
This the time of the month to really go and visit as many gardens as you have time for.See what is growing in your area and get ideas. Ponds will be a hive of activity.Dragon flies and tadpoles are very active and gold fish are bulging with eggs. Water lilies are showing leaf growth and with the added warmth may even start to form buds below the water. Lots of herbaceous plants even need to be thinned out as they have grown so much and begin to grow into each other smothering out their neighbours. My cat is busy bringing presents in for me or leaving bits of animal in anacessible areas for the hoover!
